Budget With MePrivacy Policy

Budget With Me ("the app") is published by Step Up Apps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
The short version
- Your budget stays on your phone. Accounts, balances, transactions, bills, income and purchase ratings are stored only in a database on your device. We never receive them.
- Statements you upload are read, not kept. An uploaded statement or receipt is sent to our server, which uses Google's Gemini API to extract the transactions and returns them to your device. We don't store the file or the results.
- Circles share percentages only. If you choose a username and turn on sharing, members of your circles see your username, your monthly savings rate and your spending split by category, all as percentages. Never amounts, balances or transactions.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling data.

We don't collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location or advertising identifiers.
Service providers
- Supabase: database, sign-in and server functions.
- Google Gemini API: reading uploaded documents, under Google's API terms.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: crash reporting.
Your choices
- Stop sharing: turn off "Share my savings rate with my circles". This deletes every rate you've shared.
- Leave a circle: Circles → menu → Leave.
- Delete your circle data: Circles → menu → Delete my circle data removes your username, memberships, shared rates, challenges, feed posts and anonymous account from our servers.
- Delete your budget: Upload → Reset local data, or uninstall the app.
- Ask us: email stepupappsnz@gmail.com with any deletion or access request.
Retention
Shared circle data is kept until you stop sharing, leave a circle, or delete it. We don't keep uploaded files after extracting the transactions. Our providers may keep short-lived operational logs under their own policies.
Security
Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Database rules ensure only members of a circle can read that circle's data.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Not financial advice
The app helps you track and forecast your own money. It doesn't provide financial, investment or tax advice.
